The 124060 is the No-Date Submariner, the current 41mm generation. It is the purest Submariner Rolex makes, no date, no cyclops, and the symmetrical dial is the entire point. The movement is the other thing worth noting. The VS3230 is a dedicated no-date caliber, not a modified 3235, so there is no ghost date position when you pull the crown.

The dial. Glossy black with Chromalight markers, and crucially, no date window. The no-date dial is what separates the 124060 from the 126610. Without the cyclops and the date aperture, the dial is perfectly symmetrical. The markers sit in a clean ring and nothing breaks the black surface. For a lot of collectors, this is the better-looking Submariner for exactly that reason. The markers and hands are filled with Chromalight for the blue glow.
The movement. VS3230. This is the detail that matters. VSF built this as a dedicated no-date caliber, not a 3235 with the date mechanism removed. That means when you pull the crown there is no ghost date position, which is the giveaway on cheaper no-date clones. Time-setting direction matches genuine, and it carries a real 72-hour reserve.
The case. 41mm, the current Submariner size. The new generation has a slimmer lug profile and a 21mm lug width. It wears balanced on the wrist, larger than the older 40mm but more refined in the lugs. 12.2mm thick, which is right on spec.
The bezel. Black Cerachrom ceramic, unidirectional, with the numerals filled in platinum PVD. The platinum fill keeps the scale bright and it will not fade or yellow. The bezel action is the standard 120-click.
The steel. All 904L, case and Oyster bracelet. Same weight and corrosion resistance as genuine.
The bracelet. Oyster with the Oysterlock clasp and the Glidelock extension. Glidelock is the on-the-fly system that lets you size the bracelet without tools, which is the best part of the modern Submariner bracelet.
The takeaway. The 124060 is the Submariner for purists. The symmetrical no-date dial is cleaner than the date version, and the VS3230 with no ghost date is the correct movement for it. If you want the current Submariner and you do not need the date, this is the one. It is the most understated dive watch Rolex makes in the modern line, and the no-date config has always been the one the hardcore collectors reach for.
