The Omega Constellation 123.20.38.21.08.001 is the two-tone yellow gold version with the textured champagne dial. It is the warmest colorway in the 38mm Constellation range. The criss-cross geometric pattern on the dial catches light differently from the sunburst finishes and gives the watch more depth at close range. The dial. Champagne gold with a criss-cross geometric pattern. It is not sunburst. The lozenge texture creates a faceted grid that catches light at different angles and produces more depth than a flat dial. The applied hour markers are yellow gold-plated faceted batons. The dauphine hands are gold-plated with Super-LumiNova fill. The Constellation star at 6 is applied and gold-plated. The date at 3 has a gold surround. The champagne dial paired with the yellow gold bezel and claws is a monochromatic warm palette. It reads as a single tone with texture doing the work of creating visual interest. VSF got the pattern spacing and the champagne color right.
The gold. Yellow gold PVD plating on the bezel, claws, crown, and bracelet hinge links. The tone is warmer than the red gold two-tone and brighter than rose gold. VSF matched the yellow gold correctly. It reads as gold without being brassy. The plating is even across all the gold elements.
The case. 38mm in 316L steel. Same Constellation architecture. Barrel-shaped body with half-moon facets. Polished claws at 3 and 9. The bezel is yellow gold plated with engraved Roman numerals. At 38mm and 12.5mm thick, it wears compact and fits under a dress cuff. VSF's finishing is clean and the transitions between steel and gold are sharp.
The movement. Dandong 8500 automatic. Independent jumping hour hand for time zone adjustment without stopping the running seconds. Date linked to the hour hand. Exhibition caseback with decorated movement. Winding is smooth and the date change is clean. Same movement across all the 38mm Constellation reps.
The bracelet. Integrated two-tone with brushed steel horizontal links and polished yellow gold hinge links. The alternating pattern reads dressier than the all-steel bracelet. The butterfly clasp has a push-button release and a raised gold-plated Omega logo. The bracelet is comfortable and the articulation is smooth. No strap changes without custom curved ends due to the integrated case design.
