The Panerai Submersible Marina Militare PAM00961 is the COMSUBIN edition. It was released as a 33-piece limited run that included an actual training exercise with the Italian Navy special forces. The forged carbon dial is shared with its sibling the PAM00979, but the 961 swaps the monochrome white lume for military green. Green lume on the indices, green lume on the hands, green luminous pip on the bezel, green OP logos on the strap. The all-green treatment against the carbon case is an aggressive look. VSF Watch Factory got the forged carbon dial and the green lume saturation right.

The green lume. Military green Super-LumiNova on everything that glows. The dots, the baton indices, the skeletonized hands, the small seconds hand at 9, and the bezel pip. In daylight the green is a pale olive tint on the dial elements. In the dark it glows green across the whole display. The green is more saturated than the vintage beige lume on the standard Carbon Submersibles and reads as more military. The green OP logos on the strap tie the whole package together. VSF matched the green tone correctly and the lume is even across all the luminous surfaces.
The dial. Forged carbon with a marbled camouflage texture. Randomly compressed carbon flakes suspended in resin create a chaotic grey-black pattern. No two dials are identical. The texture is visible in daylight and catches the light in uneven ways. "MARINA MILITARE" is printed at 6. The green lume sits against the forged carbon background and the contrast is strong. The date at 3 and small seconds at 9 are standard Submersible layout. The forged carbon dial plus the green lume gives the 961 a distinct look from the monochrome 979.
The case. 47mm Carbotech. Compressed carbon fiber sheets with a polymer binder. Matte black with layered striations. Each case pattern is unique. The crown guard and bezel are Carbotech. The bezel has Carbotech graduations and rotates with firm clicks. Carbon keeps the weight manageable at 47mm. Without it, a steel case this size would be a commitment to wear all day. VSF's Carbotech is consistent with their other carbon references.
The movement. Dandong P.9010 automatic. Independent jumping hour hand for time zone adjustment and date quickset through the hour hand. Neither stops the running seconds. The P.9010 is the correct movement for the 47mm Submersible and the GMT function works the way it should. Winding is smooth and the date change is clean.
The strap. Military green rubber accordion diver strap with green OP logos stamped on both sides. The green matches the dial lume tone. The accordion design flexes with wrist movement. The buckle is DLC-coated titanium with a tang closure. Titanium keeps the weight down and the DLC coating matches the Carbon case. Strap changes are fast and this case takes black rubber or olive NATO naturally. The green OP logos and green lume give the watch a unified color identity without needing an aftermarket strap.
