Movement: Dandong P.900
Same P.900 architecture used across VSF's Submersible line. Ground-up clone, no decorative plates. Hacking seconds works correctly — the seconds hand stops when the crown is pulled to the time-setting position. The date at 3 o'clock adjusts via the quick-set position with no lag or sticking. Hand-winding is smooth, and time-setting resistance is correctly weighted.
Dial: Blu Profondo fumé gradient
The dial transitions from a bright blue at the center to near-black at the lower edge. It's a polished gradient rather than a flat matte color, so the light reflection shifts as the watch angle changes. The date sits at 3 o'clock balanced by the small seconds register at 9. Indices are applied with white gold-tone plating and heavy Super-LumiNova fill.
Case: 44mm brushed steel
The 44mm cushion case is 316L steel with a satin-brushed finish that matches the eSteel aesthetic of the gen — matte, uniform, no polished surfaces on the case body. The crescent-shaped crown guard is engraved with "eSteel" on the locking lever, which is specific to this reference. The lever tension applies even pressure against the winding stem gasket.
At 13.3mm thick, the case wears proportionally. It fills the gap between Panerai's larger 47mm tool watches and smaller variants without feeling oversized on an average wrist.
Bezel: high-gloss blue ceramic
Unlike the matte ceramic or Carbotech bezels on other Submersible references, the PAM01289 uses a mirror-polished high-gloss blue ceramic insert. The graduations are cleanly printed, and the bezel clicks at 1-minute intervals with no reverse backlash. The action is firm with a distinct tactile engagement at each position. The luminous capsule at zero is correctly set into the ceramic.
Strap
The strap is recycled PET fabric in blue, with a brushed steel trapezoidal buckle. The fabric texture is soft on skin and dries quickly. It's a more casual, utilitarian look than leather or rubber.
